LunatiK Brings Reinforcements to PRL Season 2
Posted by AnnoucementsLeague March 21, 2022 inMonday March 21st 2022, will host the start of Precision Racing League’s GT3 Sprint Championship. LunatiK Racing drivers Luke Davis and Collin McKenzie look to make their return to the championship series while welcoming in reinforcements. On Monday nights throughout the next couple of weeks drivers will compete in a 10 round championship series to crown a driver champion as well as team champion. Davis finished in 4th in last seasons GT3 Amateur Sprint Series with McKenzie a couple spots behind in 6th. LunatiK Racing finished in 4th place last season which both drivers felt was a big miss for the team. With PRL getting rid of the PRO and AM races they have moved to just one Championship for the GT3s with a 3k iRating limit.
This season LunatiK will be entering in 6 drivers to compete in two teams of 3 to try and take over the driver and team championship. Luke Davis will be partnered with LunatiK driver Alex Wright and INDY Autosport driver Drew Becker. The 3 drivers will compete as LunatiK INDY Racing this season with two Ferrari 488gt3s on the LunatiK side and the new BMW M4 gt3 for Becker. “I am really looking forward to this season. I feel that the track schedule this season has more technical tracks where I feel I can get the most out of the car. It’s also great that we have 2 full teams on LunatiK racing with us and that should really help us stay atop of the Team Championship. ” says Davis. “My two main goals for this season are both related to applying and ignoring pressure from other drivers. If I can stick right behind someone I should be able to force some mistakes from the other drivers. That being said, when I am getting pressured I need to not worry about it and race my race – there is a reason they are behind me.”
McKenzie will be joined by LunatiK teammate Nick Mathews and Kiel Spaulding to run as LunatiK Martin Sports Racing. Mathews and Spaulding will be running the BMW M4 gt3 while McKenzie will be running the Audi R8 gt3. “I am super stoked to be able to have two teams this season to be competing for a championship. Luke and I thought that only having two drivers per team left a lot on the table and are super stoked to have 4 more drivers join us this season.” said McKenzie. “I thought I had a pretty good season last season, but I need to be way more consistent to be scoring points and get a little bit more pace to really be fighting for wins.”
