LunatiK ARL GT Championship S5 : Race 3 Red Bull Ring
Posted by LeagueRoad July 7, 2021 inLunatiK Racing was back in action again for the Apex Racing League GT Championship Season 5 with race 3 at the Red Bull Ring. A beautiful sim day in the Austrian country side but unfortunately for the race fell on a national holiday. With the race being held on July 4th most of the American racers in the field were not in attendance which included David Bush. Luckily Collin McKenzie and Nick Mathews were available to run the race. On the newest track added to the sim we saw some very tight racing. On both occasions Nick and Collin were unable to avoid obtaining damage on both races which hurt their top end speed. In the sprint race Collin finished p21 with Nick following in p26, 7th and 10th in the amateur class. In the feature race Collin took even more damage as well as a drive through penalty for track limits which led to a p22 finish with Nick finishing in p21 just ahead. That would secure 9th and 10th in the amateur class for some solid points for both drivers as well as the team. Moving into the next week will be heading up to Canada to for the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park on July 11th at 3pm est. More pictures and details of the race can be found on Apex Racing League’s website here.
